What is the difference between brown and white kraft paper?
Brown kraft paper retains a natural fiber color and creates an organic, understated appearance. It works well with black, dark and limited-color printing but can affect the appearance of light or transparent inks.

What is the difference between virgin and recycled kraft paper?
Virgin kraft paper is made primarily from new wood fibers and generally provides more consistent strength and surface performance. Recycled kraft paper contains recovered fiber and may have greater variation in color, texture and strength.
Recycled content does not automatically mean that a bag is suitable for every application, particularly direct food contact or heavy products. The material should be selected according to performance and destination-market requirements.
What paper weight or GSM should I choose?
The appropriate GSM depends on the bag dimensions, product weight, handle type, gusset depth and required stiffness. Small bags for lightweight products can use thinner paper, while large bags and heavier items require stronger paper and reinforcement.
GSM alone does not determine carrying strength. Fiber quality, paper grain, handle attachment, folded top and bottom construction must also be considered. A physical load test is recommended.
How does printing look on brown kraft paper?
Brown kraft paper changes the appearance of printed colors because its natural background shows through many inks. Light colors may appear darker or less saturated than they do on white paper.
A white underprint may be required when brighter or more accurate colors are needed. Pantone and CMYK references should be evaluated on the actual kraft paper rather than only on a digital screen or coated-paper proof.
Which handle options are available?
Available handles may include twisted paper, flat paper, cotton rope, ribbon and die-cut openings. Paper handles can support a more uniform paper-based structure, while rope or ribbon may provide a more premium appearance and different carrying comfort.
A custom die cut handle bag removes the need for an attached handle, but the cut area may require reinforcement depending on the packed weight.
How can kraft paper bags be reinforced for heavier products?
Reinforcement options may include thicker kraft paper, a folded top, handle patches, stronger adhesive, a bottom board and adjusted gusset construction.
The bag should be tested with the actual packed product because bottles, boxed cosmetics and other concentrated loads can place greater stress on the handles and bottom. For very heavy products, an alternative handle or corrugated packaging may be more appropriate.
Are kraft paper bags suitable for food?
Kraft paper bags can be used for individually wrapped food and secondary food packaging. If the paper, coating, adhesive or ink will directly contact an unpackaged food product, suitable food-contact materials and supporting documentation must be specified.

Are kraft paper bags waterproof, recyclable or biodegradable?
Uncoated kraft paper is not waterproof, although a suitable coating or liner may improve resistance to grease or light moisture. Prolonged exposure to rain, condensation or liquid can weaken the fibers.
Kraft paper may be recyclable where suitable collection facilities exist, but plastic lamination, synthetic handles, coatings and mixed-material reinforcements can affect recyclability. “Biodegradable” or “compostable” claims should only be used when the complete bag meets the relevant conditions and certification requirements.

Our standard MOQ is generally 1,000 pieces per design. The category price starts from approximately US$0.10 per bag, but final pricing depends on the dimensions, paper weight, recycled content, handles, reinforcement, quantity and printing.
Custom sample production generally takes 3–7 working days, while mass production is normally planned within approximately 7–30 working days after sample and artwork approval.
